Registering for Givingtech to receive a Donor Advised Fund grant

DAF, donor advised fund, grant

If you've received an email from Givingtech or one of our partner DAFs regarding a grant payment that a DAF wishes to make, here's what you need to do to get the grant (and view the donor's details):

1. Register your organization for a free Givingtech account by clicking here - using your charity ID number (EIN, CRA number, Charity Commission number, etc.)

2. As part of registration, you'll be asked for an organization email address. If you're a Canadian charity, please enter the email address that can be used to receive Interac e-transfers.

3. Once registered, you'll be taken to your Dashboard. Click on the "Verify bank account" button.

4. Select the bank account that should receive the grant.

  • US and Canadian charities verify through our partner Plaid. You'll log in to your charity's bank account — the login details are never exposed to us — and pick the receiving account.

  • Charities elsewhere enter bank details manually and upload a proof of account ownership statement from their bank.

We'll be in touch if anything needs fixing, and we'll let you know as soon as your account is verified. From then on you're eligible to receive grants from any foundation or Donor Advised Fund in the Givingtech network.

5. In the meantime, open All Donations in your Givingtech account to see the donor's details, along with any recommendations or requests they've attached to the grant.
